Outward Appearances
Dear Ones: Outward Appearances! There is an old saying, “Don’t judge a book by its cover.” This proverb has its roots in what the Lord told Samuel. Outward appearances can be very deceiving. Paul warns us in 2 Corinthians 11:14 that, “For Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.” In order to keep us from being…
Great Oaks
Dear Ones: Great Oaks! The Lord Jesus quoted this verse in Luke 14:18 because He is Messiah and came to rescue mankind from the tyranny of death, sin, and the grave. These wonderful promises belong to every Christian because we have been grafted into the Vine. Romans 5:17, NLT, explains it this way, “For the…
Wells of Salvation
Dear Ones: Wells of Salvation! This is a very short chapter dedicated to praising the Lord God. Shout and tell those around you what He did for you. That means to give your testimony with great passion. In John 7:38 the Lord said, “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart…

Set Me Apart
Dear Ones: Set Me Apart! Although Paul is talking about himself, these words apply to every child of God. God has a plan for each of us: to prosper us, not to harm us, and to give us a hope and a future. When we were born again, we became a part of the Body…
Sovereign Protector
Dear Ones: Sovereign Protector! Sovereign means supreme in power, possessing supreme dominion. The psalmist declares the truth that the Supreme One is his protector. A protector is a watchman who cares for those under his protection. A shepherd is a watchful protector. Our Good Shepherd is our Sovereign Protector. It is good to sow scripture…
Embrace the Truth
Dear Ones: Embrace the Truth! Embrace is to seize eagerly; to lay hold on; to receive or take with willingness that which is offered. When we embrace the words of Christ, they come into us as a living substance. For Hebrews 4:12 reveals to us, “For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than…
