God is not a man, that He should tell or act a lie, neither the son of man, that He should feel repentance or compunction [for what He has promised]. Has He said and shall He not do it? Or has He spoken and shall He not make it good?
Dear Ones: Make it Good? Surprise! These truthful and powerful words were given by God to Balaam (a heathen diviner) to speak to Balak, an enemy of Israel. This is confirmed in Numbers 23:5, “Then the Lord put a word in Balaam’s mouth, and said, ‘Return to Balak, and thus you shall speak.’” In His mercy, the Lord used Balaam to warn Israel’s enemies that what He blessed He would protect. He sent His word, and He would make it good!
As we search the Scriptures, we find many promises spoken by the Lord God that He made good throughout history. For example, Psalm 107:20 tells us, “He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.” The Lord Jesus is the Word made flesh and came to heal and rescue mankind from sin and death. Shall He not make it good? Yes, His Word has the power to bring His will and purposes to pass.
If He spoke it in the Scriptures or to you personally, then He shall make it good. Your part is to believe and speak in alignment with His Word. As you rehearse His promises, the power in His Word not only fills the atmosphere around you but is imprinted on your heart. Proverbs 7:2-3 instructs, “Keep my commands and live, … Write them on the tablet of your heart.” How do you write His promises on your heart? Your tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
Choose to believe His promise to you to make it good in your life, in your family, and in your nation. He does not lie, but you have your part to contribute too. Believe in His faithfulness. 2 Corinthians 1:20, AMP, declares, “For as many as are the promises of God, in Christ they are [all answered] ‘Yes.’ So through Him we say our ‘Amen’ to the glory of God.” Have an overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
