Revive Me

11 Revive me, O Lord, for Your name’s sake! For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble. 12 In Your mercy cut off my enemies, And destroy all those who afflict my soul; For I am Your servant.
Psalm 143:11-12

Dear Ones: Revive Me! Was David’s cry as he appealed for guidance and deliverance. The Hebrew word ḥāyâ is translated revive. It means to live, have life, remain alive, sustain life, live prosperously, live forever, be quickened, be alive, be restored to life or health. So, David asked for wholeness and restoration from all the past and present troubles of his soul. He then went on to seek the destruction of his enemies because he served the Lord.

As born-again Christians we are not just the servants of the Lord, but we are His children indwelt with His presence. Therefore, through the Cross of Christ we have a greater inheritance and covenant than David had. To be revived means so much more to us because we are part of His Body. He has invited us into to heavenlies to sit with Him on His throne. We also have the right to exercise His authority over all the power of the evil one and his minions. Our cry for revival calls for the blinders to be removed so we can walk in the fullness of our inheritance in Him. And that we may come to know Him intimately and give Him the desires of His heart for our fellowship.

May the cry of your soul be, “Revive Me!” Raise your voice exercising His authority against all that afflicts your soul. You are an overcomer through the Cross of Christ. You are His child and He will never leave you nor forsake you. Think on these things throughout this weekend. Your troubles will fade as He ignites revival fires in your heart. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
