Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?”But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
Dear Ones: Words of Eternal Life! When many people turned away from following the Lord, He asked His closest followers this question. The masses sought out the Lord for healing, food, and miracles but His teachings were different. They enjoyed the parables, but did not understand the fullness of His teachings. It was difficult because of their ingrained religious traditions. However, Peter realized that the Master’s words were different from the teachings of the Pharisees. They imparted eternal life to those who believed in Him and His teachings.
Words are powerful! Yes, even today, this truth has not changed. Proverbs 18:21, NKJV, testifies to us that, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” The Master’s words still have the power of eternal life to those who will believe and fill their minds up with them. His words of eternal life give us good fruit to sustain us through the challenges of everyday life. But when we speak the words of the evil one over ourselves, our families, or our nations, then we eat the fruit of destruction inherent in those words.
Declare: “Today, I fill my soul with the Master’s words of eternal life. In Him, I am more than a conqueror over every challenging circumstance in my life. The power of His words when spoken in faith has not diminished. I believe that the truth Peter spoke long ago is the same today. The power of His life saturates my spirit, soul, and body. I am an overcomer. Praise the Lord!” Have a power-filled day in Jesus’ name.
