Your old sin-loving nature was buried with him by baptism when he died; and when God the Father, with glorious power, brought him back to life again, you were given his wonderful new life to enjoy.
Dear Ones: Wonderful New Life! Water baptism is the spiritual circumcision that cuts off the influence of the old sin-loving nature. It is buried in baptismal waters like the Master was buried. But when we emerge from the baptismal water it is like His glorious Resurrection. The old sin-loving nature dies, and we begin a wonderful new life in Him.
This is something we need to be mindful of when we go about our daily chores. Second Corinthians 5:17, TLB, confirms to us. “When someone becomes a Christian, he becomes a brand new person inside. He is not the same anymore. A new life has begun!” We live this new life in Him, through Him, and with Him. The old sin-loving nature loses its power over us, and we are infused with His life. However, the enemy will tempt us to return to the old ways. But the power to resist temptation resides in us as revealed in Romans 6:11, NKJV. “Likewise you also, reckon yourselves to be dead indeed to sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Declaration: “In Him I live a wonderful new life. I consider myself dead to sin and alive to the indwelling presence of the Master. He does not lead us into temptation but delivers us from it. Thank You, Father, for the Cross, the glorious Resurrection of the King, and the new life it has given me. Praise Your Name Forever!” Have a blessed day in Jesus’ name.
