At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises: Glory to God in the heavenly heights, Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.
Dear Ones: Who Please Him! A huge angel choir sang high praises to God to announce Christ’s birth. They released a declaration from heaven to all men and women on earth who please God. After reading the many translations of this particular verse, we find the qualification of peace is asserted to those who God finds pleasing or those He approves of.
Through the work of the Cross, all human beings are afforded the opportunity to receive the Lord Jesus as their Savior. When we are in Christ, we qualify to partake of His peace. We become reconciled to the Father and join the group of those who please Him.
On the night He was betrayed, Jesus again released peace in John 14:27, NLT. “I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” He spoke to those who pleased Him and the ones He commissioned to carry on His work to make disciples of all men in His name.
Rejoice, knowing that you are one of those who please Him. The heavenly declaration released the peace of God to all men who He approved of. This announcement is truly connected to the Lord’s words in John 14. You can have peace in the midst of any storm that the enemy sends your way. So don’t take the bait to be afraid or troubled, you have His peace. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
