Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has not risen anyone greater than John the Baptist; yet he who is least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
Dear Ones: Who is Least! John the Baptist lived and died under the Old Covenant. He fulfilled his destiny as the herald of Christ: the voice crying out in the wilderness. But he never experienced the indwelling fullness of the Kingdom of Heaven. The Lord rightly explained that John the Baptist was a great man and completed his work for the Father. However, ordinary Christians who are indwelt by the Spirit of God are greater than John.
The enemy comes with chiding words trying to convince you that you are insignificance in God’s eyes. But the word of the Master refutes such lies. From His perspective the one who is least in the Kingdom is greater than the greatest of men under the old covenant or under the rule of this age of darkness. Remember, the Lord is always looking for reasons to bless those who are in Christ. The act of giving a cup of cold water to a child is greatly blessed when it is done to show the love of Christ.
The world’s system judges and compares people to one another according to the current societal standard. But the Kingdom of Heaven operates differently as explained in 1 Samuel 16:7, NKJV. “But the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature, because I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart.’”
Rejoice today, for he who is least in the Kingdom of Heaven is greater than anyone outside of the Kingdom. Don’t listen to the tormentor’s voice that tries to diminish you. The Lord looks at your heart and the motives behind your deeds. It’s a good day to be a Kingdom Kid. Enjoy expressing His love to others today. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
