God, listen to my prayer and do not ignore my cry for help. 2 Pay attention to me and answer me. I am troubled and upset 3 by what the enemy says and how the wicked look at me. They bring troubles down on me, and in anger they attack me.
Dear Ones: What the enemy says! This was the concern of David when he penned this psalm. We have all heard the tormentor’s voice breaking into our thoughts and deriding our actions and words bringing criticism. These thought bombs can easily ruin a day or a relationship. You may hear, “What a stupid thing to do! Now, you really messed up. Did you see the look she gave you?” These types of thought bombs are meant to stir up negative emotions and self-condemnation.
The voice of the tormentor will not stop until you rise up and take authority over it. Use the Word of God against that wicked voice. Mute it with your free will and the authority given to you by the Lord. (See Luke 10:19.) It will return to see if you will persevere. Keep muting the voice and declaring it dead to you. You have been delivered from the power of darkness and transferred into the Kingdom of the Son. Eventually, the tormentor will move on to find someone who won’t use their free will and the Lord’s authority to resist him.
May you exercise the authority given you by the Lord to mute the voice of the enemy. What the enemy says is always a lie because there is no truth in him. Release the power of Word against these thought bombs and have an overcoming day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
