The Lord is merciful and compassionate, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love.
Dear Ones: Unfailing Love! The 1828 Merriam Webster Dictionary defines unfailing as not capable of being exhausted. This is good news! Natural human affections can change at the drop of a hat. But the Love of God is inexhaustible. His mercy and compassion for those who are in Christ draw us to Himself. His correction comes as a deep conviction in our souls. He is not the taskmaster who uses his rod on his followers. He is the Good Shepherd who uses His rod against the enemy of His sheep.
The enemy continually lies to us about the Lord’s nature. For example, the tormentor may say, “God put this sickness on you. You are not important to Him.” These are lying words that usually come with the attack of a spirit of depression and abandonment. That is why knowing and filling ourselves up with the Word of God keeps us in all truth. Our good, good Father does not correct His children with sicknesses: light does not work with darkness. We see this revealed in 2 Corinthians 6:14b. “For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” The answer to Paul’s question is NONE!
Choose to believe in the goodness of the Lord and His unfailing love for you. Receive Paul’s instructions in Ephesians 5:8b, NCV, “Now you are full of light in the Lord. So live like children who belong to the light.” Rejoice knowing that His love for you is inexhaustible and you are important to Him. Start your week off by celebrating His goodness for you, your family, and your nation. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
