Simon Peter answered, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You [alone] have the words of eternal life [you are our only hope].
Dear Ones: To Whom Shall We Go? This was Peter’s response to the Lord when many who followed Him turned away. They could not understand His teachings that conflicted with their religious traditions. Peter answered correctly stating that the Lord was their only hope of being set free from the oppression of the religious hierarchy and the Roman laws.
Each of us must come to the same conclusion that Peter reached. To whom shall we go for answers to the unanswerable problems we face today? Who has the way out of our troubles? It cannot be just another man-made solution, that is how we ended up in this place: the outskirts of destruction. We are looking for the way to the land of blessing and restoration. The Lord gave us the answer in John 14:6, NKJV. “Jesus said to him, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.’”
Go to King Jesus
As we seek a governmental return to truth, righteousness and justice, we need to have our own personal revival of sorts. Laws can be changed, but the hearts of the people can only be changed by the One Who is our only Hope, Christ. When the hearts are changed, then righteous laws and justice shall be enforced with humble thanksgiving to the King of this nation (Christ). Then we can be like Joshua in Joshua 24:15, NKJV, “And if it seems evil to you to serve the Lord, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve the Lord.”
Declaration: “To Whom shall we go? I choose like Joshua to go to the Lord Jesus; He is my only hope. He is able to take care of what concerns me, my family, and my nation far greater than anyone else. As He leads, I will follow the ones He has chosen to work through in this nation in this hour. He is Heaven’s Undefeated Champion, and I belong to Him. Praise the Lord.” Have an overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
