Now on Rumble: Thyatira—The Message
Paul is continuing to move our videos off of YouTube and onto Rumble. This is a precautionary measure because YouTube has been known to be unfriendly to the Christian posters on their site.
In this lesson we begin to study the Lord’s message to Thyatira. He was able to commend these believers for their faith and endurance. But there was a big issue He had with the way they allowed a Jezebel-like woman to do spiritual harm to the church. Here is an excerpt from the video transcript to encourage you to watch the video.
In the Lord’s message to Thyatira, we see division, strife, and envy at work in their midst: division because the church was split between the true believers and those who followed the Jezebel prophetess; strife because of the animosity between the perverted lifestyle of sexual sin and heathen influences and the Lord’s moral code of conduct; and envy of the Jezebel-like woman who usurped the office of the prophet to garner the respect due the true prophets of God.
It is important to note here that this woman was not rebuked because she was a woman who walked in the prophet’s office, but because she was a false prophet, leading members of the Body of Christ into sin, and perverting the Gospel of Christ. If the Lord has a problem with women in the five-fold ministry, this would have been the perfect time to address that point. Since He does not, we have to conclude that He validates Paul’s statement to the Galatians, “There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus” (Galatians 3:28, NKJV).
