My heart is overflowing with a good theme; I recite my composition concerning the King; My tongue is the pen of a ready writer. … Keep my commands and live, And my law as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; Write them on the tablet of your heart.
Dear Ones: The Tablet of Your Heart! We have to search the Scriptures for answers. Just reading Proverbs 7:2-3 by itself leaves us with a question. “How do I write on the tablet of my heart?” But Psalm 45:1 gives us the answer: our tongue is the pen of the ready writer.
So, what does this mean to us in our daily life? Our spoken words become impressed on our inner man (our souls). If we speak and act out the Words of Life, then they are impressed on or written on our souls: the tablet of your heart.
But the same works for words of fear, doubt, unbelief, anger, and all things that are filled with darkness and death. Our words not only affect the atmosphere around us but become written on the tablet of our hearts. Bitter words plant a root of bitterness in our souls. Then this root begins to grow and bear fruit. The end result is a depressed and angry condition that creates a spiraling cycle. So, watch your words because your tongue will write them on your soul.
Declare: “I will control my tongue, so I only write the Lord’s words on the tablet of my heart. His words bring life, peace, and joy. It is my choice; therefore, I choose to keep His commands and live as the overcomer He created me to be. Thank You, Lord. I praise Your holy name.” Have a blessed day as you speak His words of life.
