Dear Ones: The Lord’s Goodness! David poured out his soul in this song. He went through many physical and emotional battles throughout his life. Here he ponders what would have happened to him if he had not believed in the Lord’s delivering hand of goodness. As we consider David’s declaration, let us reflect on how close to home his words are to our lives.
At every turn, we hear troubling words spouting doom and destruction of all that we know. But Christians have a blessed hope because of our covenant with the Father through the Blood of Christ. When we study blood covenants, we realize its depth goes beyond mere contractual agreements. Blood covenant partners become like one flesh. What happens to one is considered happening to the other. God did not have to make this type of covenant with mankind. But the Lord’s goodness and love for man was the prime motive for doing such an awesome thing. It is comforting to know that His goodness and mercy endures forever.
May you see the Lord’s Goodness explode in your life, in your family, and in your nation. Be comforted knowing that you are a blood covenant partner with Him in Christ. Because He overcame you became an overcomer too. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
