Yours, O Lord, is the greatness, the power, the glory, the victory, and the majesty. Everything in the heavens and on earth is yours, O Lord, and this is your kingdom. We adore you as the one who is over all things.
Dear Ones! The Greatness! David extoled the greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty of the Lord God. On this occasion David spoke about the provisions he had made for building of the Temple in Jerusalem. He invited all the people to join in the endeavor, then he blessed the Lord with a psalm.
David was an old man at this time and spoke from his life-long experience with the Lord God and His delivering hand. The testimony of his life took him from the obscurity of the sheepfold to sitting on the throne of Israel. His witness is truly stated here of the Lord God’s (our Father’s) goodness and greatness to those who love Him with all their hearts.
As Christians we experience the greatness of our Father from the redemptive side of the Cross. He has not changed but He gave us a better covenant ratified by the Blood of Christ. His greatness, power, glory, victory, and majesty are for us because we are in Christ. Like David, we should remember to bless Him for His goodness toward us by making declarations such as this.
A thankful heart is treasured by our spiritual Father just like it blesses our natural fathers. Take time today to think about the greatness of God that you have experienced over your lifetime. It will strengthen your faith and increase your joy level. It is a good day to be a child of God. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
