The Door

Dear Ones: The Door! The Lord declared that He is the only doorway or way to eternal life with the Father. A doorway is a portal. Look around, you have them all over your homes and places you work. The Jews who were listening to the Lord in John 10 were very familiar with the importance of doorways in their history. At the first Passover, the Israelites were instructed to mark the doors of their homes with the blood of a lamb. This was the sign or mark that prevented the destroyer from entering their homes and delivered them from death.

Passover

In this season of Passover, we are reminded of the Lord’s declaration in John 10:9. On the Cross, the Lord Jesus opened up a portal to heaven by His great sacrifice for us. This is why He is the only way for mankind to be delivered from the power of darkness and spiritual death. Only through Him do we have remission of sin and healing. He is the Blood Marked Portal (Door) of the New Covenant in His Blood.

Meditate on the fact that as long as the Israelites stayed behind the blood marked door, the destroyer could not touch them. In a similar way, we (Christians) are protected if we apply the Blood to ourselves and others. The Sinless Blood of Christ is a powerful weapon to use against the forces of darkness. This is why It has been mocked and dishonored by the dark one. He is defeated by the Blood.

May the Lord’s declaration, “I am the Door,” enlighten your understanding of the great work of the Cross. Like the Jews at Passover, celebrate your deliverance from all the power of darkness. As a Warrior of the Cross use the Blood against the minions of darkness that contend with you, your family, and your nation. You are a well-armed spiritual warrior. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
