The Body of Christ Video
In this video we will delve into the topic: The Body of Christ. The mystery of the Body of Christ is hidden in the writings of the New Testament. The Epistles are the primary source. Being a member of the Body is not like anything else we experience through social interactions. We actually are joined together in Christ. The glue that holds the Body together is the Love of Christ manifested in and through each believer. John explained it this way, “If someone says, ‘I love God,’ and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how canhe love God whom he has not seen? And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also” (1 John 4:20-21, NKJV). Therefore, the mystery of God is displayed in and through a body of believers who are joined in spiritual union in and through Christ.
The Lord said that the world would know we are His disciples by the love we have or demonstrate for the brethren. The members of a natural body do not fight one another. If one part is hurt or attacked the immune system goes into action to help alleviate the pain and promote healing. For instance, if cancer attacks one part of the body, then the other members do their part to fight it off. Paul compared the Body of Christ to a natural human body to help us understand the way we are to care for each other.
