57 But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Dear Ones: As Thanksgiving Day approaches, let us be mindful of what we are thankful for. Even in our darkest moments when the enemy of our souls presses us hard, we, as Christians, still have the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. The victory is within even as the Kingdom is within us. The blessed assurance of knowing where we are going brings comfort. There is a story of a group of men being sent into the gas chambers. They celebrated because it was a Jewish feast day with dancing and singing on the way to the chamber. The guards were puzzled and asked them what they were celebrating. They told them that they were celebrating the Word of God and that the guards would no longer have any control over them because through death they would be free. The guards let them live and within weeks the camp was liberated.
May you celebrate your victory in the presence of your enemies. May you partake of HIS table filled with all the good things the Cross bought for you. May you rejoice in just being HIS child. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
