God is our shelter and our strength. When troubles seem near, God is nearer, and He’s ready to help. So why run and hide? No fear, no pacing, no biting fingernails. When the earth spins out of control, we are sure and fearless. When mountains crumble and the waters run wild, we are sure and fearless.Even in heavy winds and huge waves, or as mountains shake, we are sure and fearless.
Dear Ones: Sure and Fearless! Yes, the sons of Korah penned this psalm to remind the people that God was their safe haven in troubling times. Today, let us be reminded of the greatness of our God. We have a better covenant ratified in the Blood of Christ than what the sons of Korah experienced in their lives. Yet, they sang declaring that God was their shelter and their strength.
We are told in James 4:8 to, “Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.” So, when troubles seem near, God is nearer than your next breath. He is always ready to help His children when they in faith call upon Him.
Banish fear from your thoughts. Don’t bite your fingernails or pace about like a trapped animal. You are more than a conqueror through Him who loved you and offered Himself up for you. You were on His mind as He hung on the Cross. He was sure and fearless knowing that the Father’s rescue plan for all of mankind was the victory set before Him.
Choose to be sure and fearless as you in faith call upon God in the good times and in the bad times. Don’t let the fearmongers have their way in your thoughts. In a moment, He is able to calm the storms raging against you. Stay in the boat with Him and rejoice. Partake of His fearless nature and walk as an overcomer today. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
