Sing for Joy

I lie awake thinking of you, meditating on you through the night. Because you are my helper, I sing for joy in the shadow of your wings. I cling to you; your strong right hand holds me securely.

Psalm 63 (NLT)

Dear Ones: I Sing for Joy! Was the way David encouraged himself as he was living in the wilderness running from King Saul. David gives us a key which is to meditate on His Word in the night. When sleeplessness comes to steal your peace, His Word will break the attack and mute the voice of the tormentor. David drew close to LORD God by believing he was hidden under the shadow of the wings of Cherubim that covered the Ark of God.

We are more fortunate than David, we have the Holy Spirit dwelling in us. The Lord called Him the Helper. (See John 14:16-18.) The strong right hand of the Holy Spirit guides us as we call out for help. He is our Advocate in all situations. The favor of the Lord comes at His direction. Like David, we are to believe that God is for us; He is concerned about everything we are going through in life.

May you sing for joy as David did even in these challenging times. Receive the favor of this Lord this day and give Him praise. It is a good day to think on these things. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
