Show Me Your Glory

18 Then Moses said, “Please, show me Your glory!” 19 And God said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the Name of the Lord before you; for I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion (lovingkindness) on whom I will show compassion.”
Exodus 33:18-19 (AMP)

Dear Ones: Show me Your Glory! Was Moses’ petition of the Lord. But the Lord did not say, “I will show you My Glory.” He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you.”

Hebrew Definitions

Moses asked to see the Lord’s kâbôwd, kaw-bode’; rarely כָּבֹד kâbôd; from H3513; properly, weight, but only figuratively in a good sense, splendor or copiousness:—glorious(-ly), glory, honour(-able).

The Lord God revealed His ṭûwb, toob; from H2895; good (as a noun), in the widest sense, especially goodness (superlative concretely, the best), beauty, gladness, welfare:—fair, gladness, good(-ness, thing, -s), joy, go well with.

Show Me Your Glory = Goodness

Toob is the same Hebrew word David used in Psalm 27:13, AMP. “I would have despaired had I not believed that I would see the goodness of the Lord In the land of the living.” Like Moses, David looked for the Lord’s glory in his now. We, too, desire to see the Lord’s goodness (glory) in our lives right now: in our current situations. Each of us, especially those who are in Christ, have a desire to see His glory (goodness) while on earth. The Lord Jesus instructs us to pray along these lines in Matthew 6:10, AMP. “‘Your kingdom come, Your will be done On earth as it is in heaven.”

He encourages us to call for the Kingdom, the Power, and the Glory to manifest in our lives on earth as it is in heaven. Think about the amazing goodness of the Lord that He wants to release to us, now. David caught a glimpse of this long ago as he sang this psalm. Luke 12:32, AMP, confirms from the Master’s lips. “Do not be afraid and anxious, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Yes, on earth as it is in heaven!

Like Moses, ask Him today, “Show me Your glory.” He is more than willing to reveal His goodness to you in your present situation. The Lord comes to you just as you are because He knows the depth of your soul. Nothing is hidden from Him. His plans are for you to overcome and enjoy being His child. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
