Then he asked me, “Son of man, can these bones become living people again?” “O Sovereign Lord,” I replied, “you alone know the answer to that.” … The thief’s purpose is to steal and kill and destroy. My purpose is to give them a rich and satisfying life.
Dear Ones: Satisfying Life! As we read these two verses together, we see Ezekiel’s question as he looks on the valley of dry bones. Then we read the declaration of the Son of God whose revealed purpose is to give His people life. Wow! This is good news for all Christians, today.
Sometimes the pressures of everyday life make us feel like dry bones. The enemy’s assault on our lives and our families comes in wave after wave. These assaults are meant to dry us up spiritually, physically, and financially. That is the work of the thief and his cohorts.
But we have the words of our King that reveal His purpose in our lives. He came to defeat the forces of hell and to give us a rich and satisfying life as we are grafted into Him. The Lord likens each of us as branches that are grafted into Him as our vine. Similar to the natural branch that draws life from the natural vine, we are to draw into ourselves His live giving presence. No more dry bones, but vibrant life flowing from Him into us.
Declare today that the Lord’s life is flowing into you giving you a rich and satisfying life. Say to the dry places to be filled with His goodness and power. Declare that you are an overcomer and that you and your family are off-limits to the law of sin and death. Have a rich and satisfying day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
