Rivers of Living Water

On the final and climactic day of the Feast, Jesus took his stand. He cried out, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Rivers of living water will brim and spill out of the depths of anyone who believes in me this way, just as the Scripture says.” (He said this in regard to the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were about to receive. The Spirit had not yet been given because Jesus had not yet been glorified.)
John 7:38 (MSG)

Dear Ones: Rivers of Living Water! Mayim Chayim* is the Hebrew term for a spring of living water. Water was so precious to them that cities were founded around the source of a stable water supply. They set down roots in well-watered areas so that they could prosper because of the water.

When the Lord cried out to the spiritually thirsty crowd, He called them to come drink of the living waters of the Spirit of Life. This was the promise of what believers in Him could expect when His rescue mission was completed. The wells of living waters were not just for a one-time drink but a continual spring or river of His life giving Spirit.

The only one who can quench the flow of this river of living water is you. But you also have the power to encourage yourself in the Lord and speak to the flow of His Spirit to be replenished and flow again. Just believe His words and be continually filled to overflowing.

Declaration: “Rivers of Living Water are continually flowing out of me. I choose to daily drink from this river of life. I believe that this is a great provision the Lord has given to me, my family, and my nation. The roots of my life go down deep into the well-watered ground saturated by this living water. I will not only prosper spiritually but in every area of my life because I am an overcomer. Praise the Lord.” Have a wonderful day in the Lord. Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
