Rivers in the Badlands

This is what God says, the God who builds a road right through the ocean, who carves a path through pounding waves, The God who summons horses and chariots and armies— they lie down and then can’t get up; they’re snuffed out like so many candles: “Forget about what’s happened; don’t keep going over old history. Be alert, be present. I’m about to do something brand-new. It’s bursting out! Don’t you see it? There it is! I’m making a road through the desert, rivers in the badlands. Wild animals will say ‘Thank you!’ —the coyotes and the buzzards— Because I provided water in the desert, rivers through the sunbaked earth, Drinking water for the people I chose, the people I made especially for myself, a people custom-made to praise me.

Isaiah 43:19 (MSG)

Dear Ones: Rivers in the Badlands! He is the One Who made a road through the Red Sea, too. It seems that this wilderness time we are going through will never end. But we have a God Who is walking every step of the way with us. We are not alone in the wilderness like some cable show. He is an ever present One Who is doing a good work in you.

He is our Great Provider. Consider the times in our lives when things looked bleak, but then something happened, and the dark clouds cleared. He uses wilderness experiences to reveal Himself to us as Healer, Provider, Counselor, Loving Father, and much more. These experiences with His delivering arm become impressed upon our souls as we encounter His goodness. Theses experiences become testimonies of His great love for us. The Word says, “They overcame by the Blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” Our testimonies strengthen our faith and diminishes the influence of the dark one over our lives.

May you experience rivers in the badlands as His delivering arm is extended to you and yours. Drink from the water of His provisions and rejoice in His goodness. Persevere as your testimony grows bigger and bigger each day. Have an awesome day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
