Restore us, O God; Cause Your face to shine on us [with favor and approval], and we will be saved.
Dear Ones: Restore Us! Should be our cry to the Lord in times of trouble and distress. The psalmist was asking for the restoring hand of the Lord to be upon his nation, Israel. When Israel fell into deep sin the hand of the Lord lifted and their enemies prevailed. At times, the land laid waste under drought and famine. But when they remembered the Lord God and returned to Him they were saved.
Therefore, we see a pattern that applies both personally and nationally to the benefits of asking for restoration and favor of the Lord. Many people are praying for a national revival, but personal revival must come first. As we cry out for restoration of our health, our families, our finances, and our nation, He will shine His face on us. He will release His favor and approval toward us as part of His saving plan. Romans 10:13 instructs us this way, “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Call out to the Lord, “restore us,” out of our present troubles.
May you experience His gracious response as He extends His saving arm to you and yours. He is a good, good Father and will not ignore your whole-hearted cry for help. Remember, in Christ, you are an overcomer filled with His Spirit. Have an awesome week. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
