Refresh Your Memory

This is my second letter to you, dear friends, and in both of them I have tried to stimulate your wholesome thinking and refresh your memory. I want you to remember what the holy prophets said long ago and what our Lord and Savior commanded through your apostles.
2 Peter 3:1-2 (NLT)

Dear Ones: Refresh Your Memory! During this Christmas season with all the hustle and bustle, it is very easy to lose track of the reason for the season. The Incarnation of God in human flesh is not an everyday occurrence. It is the magnificent manifestation of the love and the power of God for all mankind.

Emmanuel means God with us. He did not just come for a brief visit. The Lord Jesus took on human flesh: developed as a fetus in Mary’s body and was born through the matrix of her womb. As the second Adam born by immaculate conception, His blood was and is pure and sinless. Refresh your memory of these awesome happenings. Stop and consider that when the Word became flesh, you were on His mind.

Don’t let the busyness of the season overwhelm your thoughts. Refresh your memory about the miracle of His birth and why He chose to come that way. Sing Christmas carols with a new understanding of how precious you are to God. It is a good day to remember. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
