Preserve Me

Deliver me, O Lord, from evil men; Preserve me from violent men, Who plan evil things in their hearts;

Psalm 140

Dear Ones: Preserve me! That is the cry of the psalmist’s heart to the One Who is able to keep him from the violence of men. Every day we hear more news about the increase criminal activity occurring in our streets, places of work, and where we shop. But there is One Who is able to preserve us. Preserve means to guard, keep from danger, encircle as a barricade.

This is a good verse to store in your soul and to say when you go out especially when you are driving in your car. Sometimes the trip home from work can be a harrowing experience. As a child of God, you have One Who will deliver and preserve you from the evil acts of men. Psalm 34:7 tells us, “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, And delivers them.”

May the hand of our Lord and His angels preserve you from all acts of violence. Let the power of these verses fill you with peace no matter what situation you find yourself in. Take comfort that angels are on assignment to surround you like a barricade against the darkness. Have a safe day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
