Perfect Peace

Peace I leave with you; My [perfect] peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Do not let your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid. [Let My perfect peace calm you in every circumstance and give you courage and strength for every challenge.]
John 14:27 (AMP)

Dear Ones: Perfect Peace! Is there such a thing? There has to be because these are the words of the Master on the night He was betrayed. He cannot lie for there is no darkness in Him. In Mark 4:39 we have a witness from the Word that gives us a glimpse of His perfect peace. “Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.”

When the Lord said, “Peace, be still,” He actually released His peace into the very atmosphere. It had to obey Him because His word carried His peace and power. This is awesome good news because the Word of God is as powerful today as it was in Mark 4:39. When the Lord spoke “peace,” He spoke in faith as the Son of Man. He is our example, the Great Forerunner. Throughout His life and teachings, He demonstrated the superiority of the Kingdom of God over this fallen world.

Divine Nature

Christians are citizens of the Kingdom of God. We have the right to exercise Christ’s authority over all the power of darkness. (See Luke 10:19.) In addition, the Cross has enabled us to partake in His divine nature. In 2 Peter 1:4 (AMP) this is clearly explained. “For by these He has bestowed on us His precious and magnificent promises [of inexpressible value], so that by them you may escape from the immoral freedom that is in the world because of disreputable desire, and become sharers of the divine nature.” Because of this, His perfect peace is available to us. We just need to believe it and act on it.

May His perfect peace fill you: body, soul, and spirit. Begin to release His peace that has been activated in you into the atmosphere. Keep doing this on the job, at home, in your car, or wherever else you go. You are not just an overcomer, but an atmosphere changer. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
