Peace of Mind

I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.
John 14:27 (NLT)

Dear Ones: Peace of Mind! Even though our natural world seems to be spinning out of control, Christians have a gift from the Lord called peace of mind. In 1828 Mr. Webster defined inner peace this way. “Freedom from agitation or disturbance by the passions, as from fear, terror, anger, anxiety or the like; quietness of mind; tranquility; calmness; quiet of conscience.”

John tells us to choose not to be troubled or afraid of what may happen tomorrow. We can choose the gift of peace and know that our Lord is faithful: if He gave it to us then we have it. He is not a trickster or a phony. Peace of mind and heart is ours even when the entire world looks like it is going to be blown up. The One Who calmed the seas and stopped the winds is with us and will never forsake those who call upon Him.

Receive His gift of peace of mind today. Let Paul’s benediction seal your heart from 2 Thessalonians 3:16, GNT. “May the Lord himself, who is our source of peace, give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with you all.” I bless you in Jesus’ name.
