My peace is the legacy I leave to you. I don’t give gifts like those of this world. Do not let your heart be troubled or fearful.
Dear Ones: Peace is the Legacy! That the Lord gives us. In the midst of the storms of life, His peace sustains us through to the other side of the turmoil. This chapter is part of the Lord’s final teaching before going to the Cross. In a real sense, it is like a death-bed teaching. He begins this chapter by saying, “Let not your hearts be troubled.” His words are speaking to us right now in January 2025.
The enemy wants us to focus on the chaos that he is stirring up and forget about our legacy of peace. In 1828 Mr. Webster defined peace this way: Freedom from agitation or disturbance by the passions, as from fear, terror, anger, anxiety or the like; quietness of mind; tranquillity; calmness; quiet of conscience. By turning our attention to the presence and peace of the Lord, we can experience calmness and tranquility of mind even when others are in panic. It is a calm and fearless person who steps up in times of crisis to put a stop to the chaos. The peace of the Lord is the antidote for fear and panic. Our faithful Master has proven time and time again His ability to calm the storms and bring His people to safety.
Declare today: “The Lord’s peace is the legacy I have as His child. I will not let fear, doubt, and unbelief have their way in my mind. My Lord is able to take care of me, my family, and my nation. In fact, Lord, You are the only One Who can see us through to the other side of these evil events. I am an overcomer because You live in me. Praise the Lord!” Have a peaceful and overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
