For Christ himself is our way of peace. He has made peace between us Jews and you Gentiles by making us all one family, breaking down the wall of contempt that used to separate us.
Dear Ones: Our Way of Peace! The 1828 Merriam Webster Dictionary says that peace is freedom from agitation or disturbance by the passions, as from fear, terror, anger, anxiety or the like; quietness of mind; tranquillity; calmness; quiet of conscience. It also states that it is heavenly rest and harmony with others that had been at odds with us. WOW! We need this way of peace not just a little dose of it. Wars and rumors of wars are swirling around in the atmosphere.
There are some voices that question why Christians should be concerned about Israel. This verse gives them the answer. In Christ, Christian and Jews have been made one family IN HIM. Some forget that King Jesus is a Jew. The Son of Man came through the blood line of King David, a Jew. When we pray for our peace, we should be mindful to pray for Israel, especially in these days of war.
Christ is our way of Peace. He is our reconciliation with the Father and with each other. The old covenant has its fulfillment in the new. God is able to maintain covenants with more than one people group. As Christians we are grafted into Christ and become one with Him under the new covenant in His blood. Christians become God’s family from every tribe, tongue, and nation. A family united with Him and to the old covenant ones who are being called into the new.
Today, be mindful that Christ is our way of Peace. Peace of mind from the attacks of the enemy. And peace with others whether Christian or not. Let His peace bring you comfort and joy during this busy time of the year. Have a peaceful day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
