Our Sun and Our Shield

Dear Ones: Our Sun and Our Shield! The title to this psalm is “The Blessedness of Dwelling in the House of God.” When we are born again, we become children of God through faith in Christ. As children we are indwelt by His Spirit and partake of the divine nature of Christ. As we dwell in Him, He dwells in us. He becomes our sun. The natural sun is essential to all-natural life on earth. Without the sun the earth would be a frozen and uninhabitable planet. In the same way we would be lost and without hope without His presence dwelling in us.

He becomes our Shield and Protector as we become part of His Body. He gives us His grace, peace, glory, and joy so that we may experience the blessings of His goodness. It is His desire to shower great blessings upon those who follow His commandments and do what is right. When we sow the Words of Life (like this verse) into our souls, they take root and strengthen our faith in Him.

The enemy is always busy trying to separate us from the Truth: Our God is a good, good God. The attacks of darkness that are launched against us and our families are meant to keep us focused on the troubles and not on Who is our solution. He is essential (Our Sun) to our success in this battle of light versus the darkness. He is Our Shield of protection from all the fiery darts of the evil one. Think on these things this week.

May you rejoice in the truth that He is Our Sun and Our Shield. Keep your focus on Him even when confronted by situations that seem to be out of control. Remember, He is the Almighty One Who will withhold no good thing from His precious children walking in His ways. Have an overcoming day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
