9 Open up, you gates. Open wide, you aged doors and the glorious King will come in. 10 Who is this glorious King? The Lord All-Powerful—he is the glorious King. … Here I am! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear my voice and open the door, I will come in and eat with you, and you will eat with me.
Dear Ones: Open Up! Your heart to the King of kings and Lord of lords. It is a choice you make every day. These two verses work together. They reveal that we have a part to contribute to this process. We are privileged to invite the King of Gory into our lives, our current affairs: family, work, finances, national situations, etc.
When we open up the doors (gates) to our inner being, we should expect the Glory of the Lord to fill us. He never leaves His glory behind because He is the Resurrected King of Glory.
Quiet your soul and focus on Him. You may actually hear His knock. He wants to be invited into every detail of your life. The enemy works hard to get you to focus on your works. In truth, it is not by works but by faith that those doors are opened. Doors are locked when we say, “I’ll do it my way.” The doors are opened when we say, “Lord, come and do your work in me and in the circumstances of my life.”
Speak to the gates of your heart and say, “Open up; I invite the King of Glory into my situation: my life.” When He comes in then He brings not just your answer but also His peace. The Glory of His manifested presence will drive out the darkness and fill you with Light. It is a good day to open up the doors, open up the gates. He is ready to come in at your call. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
