I say to myself, “The Lord is my inheritance; therefore, I will hope in him!”
Dear Ones: My Inheritance! The word inherit is defined by Merriam Webster online as follows: to come into possession of or receive especially as a right or divine portion. It then quotes Matthew 19:29, NLT. “And everyone who has given up houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or property, for my sake, will receive a hundred times as much in return and will inherit eternal life.”
As believers we have a divine inheritance: eternal life. However, in addition to this wonderful gift we have hope in Him for our natural lives and families. The Master tells us in Matthew 19 that we cannot out give Him. What we put on the altar as a sacrifice to do His will, He is able to compensate us far beyond what we can think or imagine.
Sometimes we hear people say, “I will just wear myself out for Christ.” But they forget that His mercies are new every morning. He is always looking for an opportunity to bless those who call Him Lord. He does not want us to expire in the valley of death, but to come out leaning on His big shoulders as overcomers. He wants us to partake of the fulness of our inheritance with the saints in the Light.
Declare: “Lord, You are my inheritance. Thank You for the Cross and all its benefits. Help me to partake of every last blessing that is part of my inheritance in You. I believe the best times of my life are yet to be because You walk with me. My hope is in You and in Your plan for my life. Praise the Lord!” Have a joyful week as you partake of your inheritance in Him.
