I will lift up my eyes to the hills—From whence comes my help? 2 My help comes from the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. 3 He will not allow your foot to be moved; He who keeps you will not slumber.
Dear Ones: My Help Comes from the Lord! This is one of the Songs of Ascent found in the book of Psalms. The Jewish pilgrims sang these psalms on the uphill road to Jerusalem as they were going to the feasts. The theme of this psalm is: God’s presence in distress. The uphill climb was a challenge, but they knew that the presence of the LORD God resided in the Temple which was their ultimate goal.
We face many uphill battles in these troubling times. However, like the Jewish pilgrims of lone ago, we are to look to our Lord for help during distressful times. We are assured that His eyes are on us because He is not sleeping when we call to Him. If His eye is constantly on the sparrow, then we are certain that He gives us His full attention at our call.
May your declaration be, “My Help Comes from the Lord.” Keep these words in your heart knowing that He is willing and able to help in times of distress. He watches over you in the day and in the night hours. You are His precious child. Have a wonderful day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
