Psalm 16:9 (NKJV)
Therefore my heart is glad, and my glory rejoices; My flesh also will rest in hope.
Dear Ones: My Heart is Glad. This is a psalm of David that is entitled, “Hope of the Faithful.” It takes a purposeful effort to keep our eyes on the Lord because of the encroachment of darkness in our world. But David was a man who went through many trials, yet his faith was continually focused on the Lord. The Lord delivered David from his enemies over and over again. David knew that when he faced Goliath, that the Lord was with him. It is good to remember that David did not live a life of ease all of his days. He dwelt in the cave of Adullam while he ran from Saul and the Philistines for years.
Consider the psalms as David’s way of leaving a legacy of encouragement to the generations that followed. He knew that if we place our hope in the Lord, continually, that our hearts would be glad we did. These are wise words written to inspire our hope and feed our faith in our Faithful Lord.
May your heart be glad, today. Let the goodness of the Lord bring up memories of the times He touched your life. May your body be secure in His loving arms today. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
