I said, “I am about to fall,” but, Lord, your love kept me safe. I was very worried, but you comforted me and made me happy.
Dear Ones: Made Me Happy! The theme of this psalm is: God the Refuge of the Righteous. Sometimes we find ourselves in a battle that appears we are destined to lose. But when we call for the Lord to intervene in our circumstances, things suddenly change. The Lord waits for our cry of faith. When we call out to Him, it gives Him great joy because He is a good Father.
Hebrews 4:16, AMP, tells us to go to Him in our times of need. “Therefore let us [with privilege] approach the throne of grace [that is, the throne of God’s gracious favor] with confidence and without fear, so that we may receive mercy [for our failures] and find [His amazing] grace to help in time of need [an appropriate blessing, coming just at the right moment].” When we receive His favor, our worry turns to happiness. We thank Him because His love has kept us safe: out of the snares and traps of the enemy.
The snares and traps of the enemy sometimes come attacking our health, our finances, our families, and many other ways. The dark one is the personification of evil just as our Father is the personification of Love. Because of His unfailing love we can agree with Psalm 13:5, “But I trust in your unfailing love. I will rejoice because you have rescued me.”
Declare today, “The Lord has made me happy. There is no weapon formed against me that shall prosper. I have the favor of the Lord.” No matter what you are facing the Lord’s mercy and grace is extended to you as you enter His throne room. It’s a good day to be one of His kids. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
