16 Then Jesus called for the children and said to the disciples, “Let the children come to me. Don’t stop them! For the Kingdom of God belongs to those who are like these children. 17 I tell you the truth, anyone who doesn’t receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
Dear Ones: Like a Child! That is how we are to come to Him. I just spent time with my new grandson. As I watched him nurse and take the bottle, he trusted that it was good for him. He did not hesitate to ask (demand) for more because he knew it met his physical need. He also desired to be held and cuddled by his parents and grandparents. This is the visual we are given as to how we are to go to our Lord. Trust Him to give us our daily supply. Desire and crave His touch and presence.
Usually when a baby is introduced into a group of adults, their attention is turned toward the little child. The presence of such innocence is inviting to the souls of the adults. May I hold the baby? Is often the request made by even strangers. Now, consider our Father God and His love for mankind. If we go to Him like little children, then His heart of compassion and love is stirred up. Romans 8 tells us, “31 What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare His own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?”
May you learn to go to Him like a child to seek mercy and grace in these troubling times. Be ready to receive His Kingdom blessings with a grateful heart. Remember, He is your Father who loves you and has made great provisions for you and yours. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
