But He said, “Leave the children alone, and do not forbid them from coming to Me; for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.”
Dear Ones: Leave the Children Alone! The Lord was quite annoyed with His disciples when they started to shoo away the children from His presence. If you listen with your spiritual ears, then you will hear Him saying these words today, too. The Lord does not change His mind on such important issues. Hebrews 13:8, TLB, confirms this. “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.”
These children, with their childish desire to be close to the Lord, set an example for all believers forever. They wanted to touch Him, sit on His lap, and to enjoy His company. The disciples did not welcome their antics or their company. In their dismissive behavior they failed to perceive the heart of the Lord.
The Lord desires childlike intimacy with every believer. He wants to hear your stories and reveal your heart’s desires to Him. He wants to give you the Kingdom as revealed in Luke 12:32, VOICE. “My little flock, don’t be afraid. God is your Father, and your Father’s great joy is to give you His kingdom.”
Let the Master’s words, “Leave the Children Alone,” draw you deeper into an intimate relationship with Him. He is not looking for formality but true childlike fellowship with you. Come into His presence like a child runs to their dearest parent. Enjoy His company. Tell Him how much you love Him. This is what He is looking for and will reward with overflowing blessings that cannot be contained. Have a joy filled day. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
