Keep a Cool Head

8-11 Keep a cool head. Stay alert. The Devil is poised to pounce, and would like nothing better than to catch you napping. Keep your guard up. You’re not the only ones plunged into these hard times. It’s the same with Christians all over the world. So keep a firm grip on the faith. The suffering won’t last forever. It won’t be long before this generous God who has great plans for us in Christ—eternal and glorious plans they are!—will have you put together and on your feet for good. He gets the last word; yes, he does.

1 Peter 5:8-11 (MSG)

Dear Ones: Keep a Cool Head! Stay focused on what the Lord is doing in your life and for your family. The enemy is working overtime sending out fear, depression, unbelief, and strife to harass everyone especially the household of Faith. Firmly, grasp hold of the Word and keep your faith in Him alive and activated.

Our Father has great plans for each of us and our families. Jeremiah 29:11, NLT, tells us, ‘“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”’ The hard times come but they do not stay forever. They are like a passing storm. When the storm is gone, there is clean up that needs to be accomplished. But the storm is gone. We are to walk through the valley of death and not set up camp in it. It is truly in the wilderness that we learn the most about this generous God, Who watches us even in the night hours and through the storms. Let Him be your focus. Rehearse His goodness in your own ears. Then you can rejoice even while the storm still rages.

May you keep a cool head in these turbulent times. Remember His goodness and mercy are extended to all who are hidden in Christ. May you partake of His abundant table in these stormy days. Have an overcoming day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
