Joy to the World: Lyrics

Joy to the World—Lyrics

Joy to the world, the Lord is come!
Let earth receive her King!
Let ev’ry heart prepare Him room,
and heav’n and nature sing,
and heav’n and nature sing,
and heav’n, and heav’n and nature sing.

The lyrics of the hymn “Joy to the World” are by English writer Isaac Watts, inspired by Psalm 98, 96:11-12 and Genesis 3:17-18. The hymn was originally printed in 1719.

Dear Ones: Many Christian songs we sing are inspired by Scripture. When we sing or pray the Scriptures, the power in the Word is released in a unique way. The music seems to amplify the power changing the very atmosphere. So, let your voices be raised in celebration of HIS birth and enjoy the shift in the atmosphere that comes as a result.

May your Christmas cheer bubble up with songs of praise and joy. May you feel the atmosphere shift as the gloom and doom of the times fade away. Have an overcoming day in the LORD. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
