And Abraham said, “My son, God will provide for Himself the lamb for a burnt offering.” So the two of them went together. … And Abraham called the name of the place, The-Lord-Will-Provide; as it is said to this day, “In the Mount of the Lord it shall be provided.”
Dear Ones: It Shall Be Provided! Abraham’s faith revealed in this chapter is an example for us to follow. (See Romans 4:16.) God tested Abraham by asking him to offer up his son, Issac, on Mount Moriah. But when Issac inquired about the offering lamb, by faith, Abraham declared that God would supply the lamb. At the appointed time, God stopped Abraham and revealed a ram caught in the bush which he offered. Abraham’s willingness to offer up the “son of promise” was the forerunner of the Father offering up His only Son on the same mountain.
As we read the fullness of this chapter in Genesis, we see the roots of the Blood Covenant that God cut with Abraham before Issac was born when he was known as Abram. By faith he believed that his descendants through Issac would inherit the land promised by God. Therefore, he knew that a substitute would be provided by God.
Believe It Will Be Provided
When we read Hebrews 11, we realize the great faith heritage we have in Christ. Our Father has not changed. He is faithful to perform His word even when the natural circumstances seem to be overwhelming. The enemy comes with his tormenting voice to say, “All is lost, just give up!” But he is a liar, so, we are not to believe anything he says or does. When we resist his attacks and put our eyes on the Lord, then we can say, “The Lord shall supply all my needs according to His riches in glory.”
Resolve to believe like Abraham that it shall be provided. If it takes miraculous signs or wonders to assure your provisions, then believe He is able to do it. He is willing to do it. Your faith in Him can move mountains. These are exciting times when you shall see His hand moving on your behalf—only believe and trust it will be provided. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
