Inquired of the Lord

David inquired of the Lord, saying, “Shall I pursue this band [of raiders]? Will I overtake them?” And He answered him, “Pursue, for you will certainly overtake them, and you will certainly rescue [the captives].”
1 Samuel 30:8 (AMP)

Dear Ones: Inquired of the Lord! David was in a hard place: Ziklag was burned, families taken as hostages, and his men wanted to stone him. It was a time when David needed the right strategy, so he inquired of the Lord as to what he should do. The Lord answered him and assured him of victory.

Today, when we are faced with difficult decisions and circumstances, we need to follow David’s example and inquire of the Lord. Don’t go to the Lord to “amen” your decisions but be open to His leadership to give you direction. When you don’t hear an answer immediately, then fast and pray to be willing to follow His guidance. My personal testimony is that this works if you are truly willing to do what He shows you to do.

Remember, the Lord knows your past, your present, and your future. He has great plans for you to prosper, to be in health, and to give you hope and a future. He enjoys your act of faith when you come to inquire of Him about what you should do. Like a little child approach your loving Father asking for His wisdom and guidance about the affairs of your life.

Resolve today to be like David when he inquired of the Lord in times of great trouble. Your loving Father will answer you. Be willing to obey His instructions then see how He flips the situations of your life for the good. In Him, you are an overcomer. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
