Then He said, “I will make all My goodness pass before you, and I will proclaim the name of the Lord before you. I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and I will have compassion on whom I will have compassion.”
Gracious—chânan, khaw-nan’; a primitive root; properly, to bend or stoop in kindness to an inferior; to favor, bestow
Compassion— râcham, raw-kham’: to love, love deeply, have mercy, be compassionate, have tender affection, have compassion
Dear Ones: I will be Gracious! These are the words of our Creator God revealing His heart for those who are willing to follow Him and be His people. Christians are grafted into the Body of Christ and find great favor, compassion, and the graciousness of God extended to them.
The Father says these things because He sees everyone’s heart. He saw the heart of David as a king even when he fought the bear and the lion while keeping his father’s sheep. He saw the heart of Moses as a babe floating on the water knowing that He would be Israel’s deliverer. He sees your heart and knows its depth and the talents He has given to you. Follow Him for He said, “I will be gracious to whom I choose.” Obedience to follow His Word and to love the Son brings the manifestation of His graciousness and compassion.
Think on these things today. May you hear His words, “I will be gracious to you, my child.” Receive His compassion and rejoice in His goodness. Be sure to continue in a spirit of thanksgiving so that the flow of His blessings will never cease for you and yours. Have an overcoming day in the Lord. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
