Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.
Dear Ones: I have given you Authority! These are the Lord’s words to His disciples. He sent the 70 out to heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, and cast out demons. His words are for all the whosoevers that believe in Him. In current vernacular, He has given us the power of attorney to use against the forces of darkness.
Before His Ascension, the Lord instructed His disciples to teach others about the good news of salvation and to instruct them in His ways. He also told them on the night He was betrayed that believers are to do mighty works in His name. These are power verses that imply we are to use His authority to crush our enemies when they attack us, our families, friends, and nation. He did not leave us powerless. He also sent Holy Spirit to teach us how to operate in His Divine Nature so that we can be victorious in all our affairs.
May His words, “I have given you Authority,” embolden you today to stand your ground when the enemy attacks. Let the full power of His words saturate your soul. Use His authority with faith and confidence that He is able to work through you, for you, and in you. You are an overcomer in Him. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
