The thief approaches with malicious intent, looking to steal, slaughter, and destroy; I came to give life with joy and abundance.
Dear Ones: I Came! In this chapter, the Master stated His purpose for coming into the earth as a human being. He came to give life. Not just a barely surviving life, but a life filled with joy and abundance. When you search through the Scriptures you find references to this life and what it means to those who believe.
For example, Paul explained in Romans 8:2, VOICE. “Because when you live in the Anointed One, Jesus, a new law takes effect. The law of the Spirit of life breathes into you and liberates you from the law of sin and death.” He came to destroy the works of the evil one and brought a new law that supersedes that of the enemy.
I Came with Abundant Life
At Christmas time, it is important to remind ourselves of the purpose of His birth: I Came! This birth was planned before time began. The purpose of His life was established in Heaven to reconcile mankind back to the Father. This is why the Heavenly Host sang in Luke 2:14, MSG. “At once the angel was joined by a huge angelic choir singing God’s praises: Glory to God in the heavenly heights, Peace to all men and women on earth who please him.”
Declaration: “Lord, I believe you when you said, ‘I Came to give life.’ I receive Your life. The law of the Spirit of Life reigns in my being: spirit, soul, and body. The enemy has no place in me, my family, and my nation. Thank You for coming and completing Your rescue mission. In You, Master, I am an overcomer and the darkness has no place in me. Praise the Lord!” Have a blessed day in Jesus’ name.
