Hundredfold

Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him.
Genesis 26:12 (NKJV)

Dear Ones: Hundredfold! In natural terms it means to multiply by a hundred. However, this is how Biblehub.com explains it. “This passage highlights God’s blessing upon Isaac, demonstrating that divine favor can result in extraordinary prosperity, even in times of famine or difficulty. The hundredfold return is a testament to God’s ability to provide abundantly for His people.*”

Isaac trusted that God would provide for him even during a famine and God came through for him. God’s favor is unbiased and is based on the sincerity and faith of a person’s heart. We now live under the New Covenant which is a better one than Isaac had. So, if we sow in faith believing that we will reap a great harvest, then we can expect God to provide abundantly for us.

Hundredfold of What?

But what are we to sow? We sow whatever the Lord directs us to do. It maybe finances, or the investment of our time into someone’s life. Or it may be an act of kindness toward someone who cannot repay us in kind. Whatever it is, it requires action of some sort: an act of faith. The hundredfold blessing has to have something to multiply and that something is provided by our actions.

Declare: “My Father, I seek a hundredfold blessing for the actions I have taken at Your direction. I know that Your favor is impartial. So, I purposefully release my faith knowing that I will see Your goodness provide an abundance of good things to me and my family. I keep my eyes on You and not on the natural changes happening around me. The Lord is good, and His mercies endure forever!” Have a blessed day in Jesus’ name.
