Hope in God

Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you disquieted within me? Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him For the help of His countenance.

Psalm 42:5

Dear Ones: Hope in God! The title of this psalm is yearning for God in the midst of distresses. When you listen to the news or read the news sites, there are distressful things happening constantly. But the psalmist asks his own soul, “Why are you cast down, depressed, and stressed?” The answer is to go to the One Who offers hope to all who come to Him. Confident hope in the One Who created the worlds is the remedy for all of the chaos we see and experience around us today.

As Christians we have the indwelling presence of the Spirit of God: The One in whom we hope. We have His favor and the resources of heaven at our disposal. He has set an opulent table before us and calls us to partake of it. So, our hope is not misplaced. It is based on Who He is and not the promises of mere men.

May you hope in God today to bring you through every difficulty that arises. Let the words of this verse calm your soul. May His peace prevail in you no matter what you have to deal with in the natural. Have an overcoming week. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
