Heard My Cry

I waited patiently for God to help me; then he listened and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the pit of despair, out from the bog and the mire, and set my feet on a hard, firm path, and steadied me as I walked along. He has given me a new song to sing, of praises to our God. Now many will hear of the glorious things he did for me, and stand in awe before the Lord, and put their trust in him.
Psalm 40:1-3 (TLB)

Dear Ones: Heard My Cry! It is comforting to know that God is listening and hears when we call out to Him. First John 5:14-15, NKJV, tells us, “Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” This is great news to keep in mind when the enemy comes against us.

The pit of despair is where the enemy wants to keep us imprisoned. He wants us to continually fixate on the negative things we are going through and believe his lies. The liar always comes with doubt and unbelief to question whether God is even listening to our call for help as we pray. His goal is to have us set up housekeeping in the miry clay of despair. BUT our God is listening and His hand is the only hand that can extract us from this awful pit.

When we arise from the pit, we come out with a new song of praise for our deliverance. The enemy hates praise and will flee from its presence. When our praise and testimony is heard by others they will be emboldened to call on the Lord for themselves.

Rejoice and sing, “The Lord has heard my cry and pulled me out of the pit of despair. I know He hears my prayers. I am not forsaken but a precious child of God. This is my song of victory over depression and pain. Join in with me and be an overcomer too.” I bless you in Jesus’ name.
