The Lord directs the steps of the godly. He delights in every detail of their lives.
Dear Ones: He Delights! Mr. Webster declares in his 1828 dictionary that delight is a more permanent pleasure than joy, and not dependent on sudden excitement. The Hebrew word for delight also engenders rendering favor toward someone.
If we follow the guidance or direction of the Holy Spirit, then we are counted among the godly. Romans 8:14, NCV, tells us, “The true children of God are those who let God’s Spirit lead them.” When we yield to His leadings then He can delight in every detail of our lives. His delight is a permanent pleasure because His hands are free to shower us with favor and overflowing blessings.
There are some people who might balk at being led by the Holy Spirit. The sense of rebellion runs deep in the human spirit because we don’t want to be led by anyone even the Spirit of God. But in truth, if we do not follow the Lord’s leadership then we are actually following the ways of the dark one. The path of the dark one leads his followers to a place called destruction. But the Lord’s path leads us to a place called blessing: A place of prosperity, hope, and a good future.
May you rejoice all weekend long that He delights in you. Make it a good practice to declare every day that, “I choose to be led by the Spirit of God and to be known as a son in heaven.” He said that He never forsakes those who call on Him. Because you are His delightful one expect His favor and blessings at every turn. I bless you in Jesus’ name.
