Rumble: Having Ears to Hear
Paul is continuing to move our videos off of YouTube and onto Rumble. This is a precautionary measure because YouTube has been known to be unfriendly to the Christian posters on their site.
In this lesson we look at the Lord’s call: Having Ears to Hear What the Spirit is saying to the Church. Although His messages to each city-church differed from one another, the Lord admonished them all as He closed their particular message to listen to the Spirit of Life. This means that the Spirit is continually speaking to the Church and every member individually. Here is an excerpt from the video transcript to encourage you to watch the video.
John 15:26-27
Each message to a city-church ends with the call, “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches” (Revelation 2:7, 11, 17, 29; 3:6, 13, 22, NKJV). This admonition is not referring to the natural ears that we are born with, but the Lord is referring to the spiritual ears of our inner man. Unlike the instinctive natural sense of hearing of the physical human ear that functions without our conscience effort, our spiritual ears function as an act of our free will. The Lord calls everyone who reads these messages to have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying to the Church, the greater Body of Christ. This means that the Holy Spirit is inviting the Church to pay attention to spiritual matters, to carefully consider events in the light of God’s Word, and to listen for His voice to give wisdom and discernment. This is the fulfillment of His commission given to Him by the Father and the Son to testify to the things concerning the Lord Jesus.
